Great product But could never be #1Apr 26, 2008

I purchased the product from Amazon and the item shipped out from Office Depot Wholesale. Unfortunately the unit seems to have been used before I got it even though it was advertised as 'Brand New'. It arrived used and one of its wheels were crushed. Amazon got me a refund. Thanks(First Timer).
PRODUCT REVIEW
Firstly the shredder is first class. This shredder is amazing. It is noisy but it does shred paper into 3mmX9mm pieces. Unfortunately it does not like more than 8 sheets at a time. It whines and groans but does not stop(20LBpaper).
Noise Weight Size Packaging & the paint job stop this shredder from being #1
1)At 50Lbs Plus its far too heavy. The shredder area is an all steel box construction. To reduce weight Royal should have constructed the shredder box from Aluminum with steel rods for strength.
2)The bin should have been a plastic bin and not a corrugated card-board box. The box had to be pushed all the way to the back otherwise some shredded paper falls into the metal bin missing the cardboard box.
3)The power switch should have been a biometric to stop small children from playing with the green switch.
4)During shipping the Steel Teeth should be tethered by a rod through them to stop them from shaking and causing damage during the long shipping time from China i.e. where it is manufactured.
5)The grey paint shows all oily fingerprints once touched. This type of paint though cheap should never have been used.
6)The wheels are plastic and they are screwed on at the factory. The unit stands upright with 3 pieces of styrofoam packaging to protect the product from China.
One flat piece of styrofoam on the top and one at the bottom. On the sides of the product, there is brown packing paper thrown in; which in my opinion does not provide any protection as my box was damaged with a hole. There is another small piece of styrofoam approximately 3 inches by 24 inches placed along the back of the shredder. This is supposed to stop a steel 50Lb shredder from not moving during shipping.....I don't think so.
7)Product not rated to shred CDs...?
8)The foldout tray(plastic) to feed the continuous printer paper could probably only support a half ream as over time I do feel it might get bent from the paper weight.
9)The LED screen is just NOT NEEDED.
If you can stand the noise and weight, I would definitely recommend the shredder. The other items mentioned above refer to the Royal company in failing to engineer a better product and more pleasing product. Even the power cord sticks out the back on the top of the unit. It should have been engineered to come out the bottom so it was not seen. As a consumer I expect more. Royal please wake-up.....
