The ProCurve 10/100 switches that take these transceivers may be obsolete, but that doesn't mean that the situation won't arise in which you need one. After a recent plant expansion, we had such a situation arise and I was thankful that I was able to find a couple of these on amazon.com. They worked exactly how I was expecting them to... remove the dust cover over the port, plug in the transceiver, hook up the fiber patch cord, power up the switch. Repeat at the other side. Been working great for the past couple months in production.
