It does the jobJan 10, 2007
By Ivan Carlo Marquez Zarzalejo I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop with S-Video output, and I wanted to watch downloaded DivX videos on my big screen TV set, this adapter does the job, the Windows interface and small text presentations look blurred, but full screen movies look just fine and that's what I needed. No complaints.

Works GoodOct 24, 2007
By Tech60 I use this to hook up a video feed from a Laptop to a TV. Works good every time. I had to shave some of the blue plastic off in order to get it to fit securely into my laptop. Cables-to-Go is a great brand of product.

It's functional...Sep 27, 2007
By C. Converse As others have mentioned, the connector is terrible. It's incredibly loose, so the slightest tap and it will fall right out. Might make it not so great for use with a laptop. However, on my desktop nothing tends to touch it since it's around back, so it works. Picture quality is fine. I don't know what the one guy is talking about; I've watched plenty of movies and they look great, and subtitles are perfectly readable.
This won't work so hot for use as a second monitor, though...since it's downgrading the video signal from S-Video to Composite, smaller text and fine graphical details aren't going to be clear. Even at S-Video quality you'd be lucky to make out most system text on normal font sizes...at Composite forget it.
But as a way to pump out video (movies) to a TV, this is perfect...except for the loose connector.

Correctly works in colorNov 04, 2009
By D. Carrington I suddenly found myself needing a composite to S-video converter. I had a three that were acquired with various camcorders and other devices over the years, but had never tried. One showed no direction arrow, one showed composite to S-video arrow, and one showed bi-directional arrow. But none of them worked. Either black and white, or psychedelic colors. So I had reservations buying one not knowing if it would correctly work. This adapter works just fine, converting Composite to S-Video, correctly, in quality color. Looks nice. Obviously, I don't get the true S-Video quality as the signal has been encoded into NTSC composite before the adapter, but lets me hook up things when I don't have the right plugs.

Works Perfect, Fits SnuglyJul 30, 2008
By Z. Rutledge This adapter works flawlessly. I've been using it to connect the video feed from my PS2 to the S-Vid port on an old projector that doesn't have all three RCA ports. The adapter fits very snugly on both ends and provides great quality picture.
